LEGO Systems, Inc. Quality Technician for moulding in Billund, Denmark
Quality Technician for moulding
Location Denmark, Billund
Posted Date 06/26/2018
Job ID DK6388
Category Quality Management
We all make many decisions in our lifetime. However, some of us are better at making them than others.
Are you one of those people? Become a quality technician and help us evaluate up to 2,000 moulding samples every year, so we can ensure the highest production quality possible.
The Element Qualification team - guardians of quality
All LEGO elements that we manufacture have, at some point, been through a moulding process. To ensure that each element is produced with the right measurements, functionality and visual shape, each mould must be assessed before they are released into our global production facilities.
This is where you come in. As a quality technician, you will join our Element Qualification team, which is part of Elements & Moulds within Engineering & Quality. Together with your 8 fellow quality technicians, you will essentially function as an ambassador for the quality of our moulds by:
• Approving or rejecting elements for both a measuring, visual and functional perspective
• Releasing approved moulds into global production
• Supporting development, processing and production divisions on issues and offering ideas for improvements
• Ensuring updated documentation
Shaping the future of moulding though collaboration
We know that we need to dare to share in order to secure continuous improvement of our moulds. This is why we work closely together, sharing both office space, questions and ideas. We truly enjoy our work. We are therefore extremely diligent on rejecting moulds that do not live up to our standards, and we are known to get very involved in finding solutions that help ensure optimal quality.
Are you our new quality guardian?
Whether you have recently graduated or have some experience as a quality technician within production is not important to us. What does matter is that you have the motivation to learn and that you can communicate and collaborate efficiently with colleagues from your own and other divisions.
Moreover, we look for:
• Good technical understanding of plastic processing, cast moulding or similar
• Knowledge of the value chain for production
• Fluent communication skills in Danish and English
• The ability to travel up to 15 days per year to join team seminars
• Preferably, experience with SAP and problem-solving tools like Six Sigma or DMAIC - although it is not a must
Bringing it to life
“With time, you will have the opportunity to specialise within certain moulds, take on more challenging assessments and work on solving mould design challenges. So, if you would like to become an expert within the field of quality and product development - then this is most definitely the job for you,” explains manager Steffen Skaarup Filtenborg.
Join the global LEGO® family
In the LEGO Group, we succeed together, and you will be part of a global family where you can use your creativity and enjoy a fun working environment. We look forward to receiving your application. Please remember to attach your cover letter and a current CV in English.
