Senior Project Manager for Creative Play Lab

Invent the future of play

You will join the Creative Play Lab to help invent radically new play opportunities. Specifically, you become responsible for the Creative Play Lab concept development projects focusing on products with both a digital and a physical component. To do so, you take an active leadership role in a team with marketing and design, where your objective is to explore and prove new profitable and sustainable product, experience and potential business categories. In particular, you:

  • Act as the leader who motivates your team to work together in new ways inspired by the digital product development

  • Lead and develop the time line for the projects (both digital and physical), staffing project teams, securing quality, time and cost in the project and ensuring that the leadership team is on board

  • Manage stakeholders to create a desire for innovation

  • Communicate how an intangible concept can become reality to facilitate the project transition to the downstream organisation

  • Drive the project team, including direction setting on design for serviceability, project meetings, kick-offs and after-action reviews

Your job is to push the boundaries and help us do things differently, developing a deep knowledge of the correlation between the digital and the physical end-2-end value stream as you go. In short, you engage, inspire and collaborate with stakeholders to pave the way for innovative concepts which will invent the LEGO experiences of tomorrow. Here, you play a central part in shaping new and pioneering play experiences for millions of children across the globe.

To succeed, you have an innovation mindset as well as an energising and inspiring leadership style. Also, you can translate innovation into something tangible and help stakeholders understand the benefits of the concept, idea, product or experience. You thrive in the unknown and can navigate through a sea of uncertainty, developing processes and milestones as you go. To facilitate this, you:

  • Have a proven track record of leading complex projects (preferred from early ideas to launch) - and experience with both a digital and physical product component as a must

  • Hold a commercial master degree or a degree focused on IT and economics

  • Have good knowledge of the scrum framework (Scrum master or alike) and the Agile way of working

  • Have strong stakeholder management skills and can demonstrate how you have translated complex issues into something decision-makers can act upon

  • Are an outstanding communicator with strong presentation skills, and you communicate effortlessly in English
